Ok, so I was one of those who did the last minute shopping bit today. When my husband came back from a similar trip, I ventured out to the nearest Targ*t. I had to park way out in the boondocks, zip up my jacket and head into the wind for the distant door.
Once I got inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the congeniality of the shoppers. Some where wearing Santa hats; others had children in tow. As we maneuvered past each other, the "excuse me's," "no problems," "pardon me's," and pleasant attitude prevailed. Children behaved, parents were patient with children, shoppers were kind to the cashiers, and I left buoyed by the spirit of good will.
