Tying Shoes

For several weeks now, Tony has been interested in tying his shoes. I've let it ride for a while, but today he insisted on being shown how. From a favorite PBS kids program, he heard a little saying about a rabbit down a hole; the same thing I heard when I grew up. But it never made sense to me. So scrapping that, I used key words; cross, over, tight, loop, grab, take, wrap, push, pull. IT WORKED! Tony has learned the basics; he just needs to practice keeping everything together.

How quickly he is growing up! A month ago, it was learning to ice-skate, two weeks ago it was learning to bike ride; today it was tying shoes.
