Our dear daughter, DeeDee is one-year-old today. Her birthday party came in three parts; morning, afternoon and evening. In the morning - early before we got a call to show the house -we gave her Nana and Papa's gift, a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Musical Chair. DeeDee loves it!
The next two and a half hours or so were spent cleaning up so someone could come see the house. While we were out, we worked on getting materials for Tony's eighth birthday party, coming up next Sunday. This will be his first big party. We are holding at a nearby zoo, and we have commitments from 12 church friends. I don't need to tell you that our excitable son is very impatient for next Sunday to get here.
Then it was off to the Olive Garden to meet up with our friend who was with us when DeeDee was born a year ago. We had a great visit; DeeDee was decorated with a birthday ribbon and a "foamy" tiara.
Finally this evening, we gave DeeDee the little six-inch strawberry pink cake for her to play with. She doesn't have much of a sweet tooth and found the frosting rather distasteful, but she seemed to go for the cake OK. She didn't have a lot, though; mostly because she was tired and was full from the big meal at the Olive Garden. (DeeDee had Gerber veggie puffs, olives, bread, and spaghetti.)
