It's all about WATER - revised

Last Friday morning, Angelo discovered our hot WATER heater was not working. So, throughout the weekend, we supplied our hot WATER needs with a couple of big pots on the stove. It really wasn't all that bad for the weekend.

This morning we had a slight dusting of WATER crystals (AKA snow) on the ground and the temperatures dropped from 20 at 7:30 to 9 degrees now. That makes for some serious frozen WATER vapor whenever you go outside. And, if your like me that dry air also causes me to cough and cough, thus keeping me inside where there's a nice pot of slow boiling WATER to put humidity in the air.

Paula had a chemistry lab this morning; she was experiementing with Charles' law. She had to put a pipet into some WATER, clamp it with a spring clamp, and then place it some ice WATER to create pressure that will draw in WATER when the clamp was released.

The plumbing guy came this afternoon to put in a new hot WATER heater. He worked a couple hours, turning off the main WATER line, coming in and out of the house, up on the roof and back to his truck. I had filled up a pot of cool WATER, and figured that would be all the kids would need. I failed to tell them that the WATER was off, and to not try turning on the taps. Oops.

One of them had to use the bathroom. When they went to wash their hands, they turned on the WATER tap, found there was no WATER, so they came back to the living room and back to school.

Soon the WATER was turned back on; and, because of our slow draining sink, it was soon overwhelmed with running WATER. WATER ran over the counter, down the side, onto floor, dripped through the floor to the basement and ran out the door into the hallway. Once it was brought to my attention, I had to grab a couple towels and get it cleaned up.

(Yes, there was school today.)

Because of the stranger in our house and the open door, our dog was kept in our room. The dog who, because of the extreme cold weather hadn't asked to go outside, had an accident. Once I finally came in to let her out, there was a puddle of "potty WATER" (as my son calls it) on the floor. Up come the mop (which still had Pine Sol in it from a previous kitchen cleaning job) and we got that mess taken care of.

Lest you think this tale is over, listen to this: We had to take the baby gate down so the service guy could bring the hot WATER tanks up and down the stairs. So our dear daughter had free access to our dog's WATER dish. Now, DeeDee, an experienced bather that she is, loves to play in the WATER. Every chance she had she crawled at high speed to that blue dish just so she could get her hands into the sparkling WATER. One time, however, the WATER dish upended and spilled WATER all over her. Now I have to take a WATER logged DeeDee, with WATERy tears spilling down her cheeks at the shock of it all, to the changing table to get her changed.

Any body have a dry towel so I can dry my hands off? Oh yeah, don't run outside in 8 degree weather with wet sleeves and no jacket.
