I talked to my dad this evening, and my mom is currently in ICU following a bronoscopy. Because of her strong coughing reflex, the doctors had to sedate her more than normal, so they placed her in the ICU for extra monitoring.
The chest x-ray this morning was worse than last night - this is not good, and the CAT scan was inconclusive as to viral pneumonia. They are not ruling anything out; but be assured that my dad did explicitly ask if this whatever is the possibility for more cancer. He was assured that this was NOT cancer.
During the procedure they took samples by several different means including a culture that will take several days to get the results from. We assume my mom will remain in the hospital until the results of those cultures is known.

My mom was admitted to the hospital this afternoon with possible viral pneumonia. The oncologist wants to confer with pulmonologist to make sure, but there she is for the time being.
She has had an awful recovery time since her last round of chemo; has been in bed for almost a week and a half. I know she is feeling very miserable and extremely frustrated.
Please, pray for her. Thanks.
