Remember our car? Well, it was totally and completely dead this morning. Even a sharp jolt in the electrodes didn’t give a click.
It was time to call a friend.
Angelo called our good friend Lee and asked for a ride to the auto parts store to get a new alternator. Lee came right over, gave Angelo the lift he needed, and then did something more. He stayed and helped get the alternator changed; took Angelo to get a new serpentine belt, a new battery and more oil and an oil filter. Lee and Angelo spent about five hours together working on our car.
What did Lee want in return? Nothing. I even had a hard time convincing him to keep the pint of pure home boiled maple syrup I’d slipped into his car.
As he was leaving, and I was expressing my gratitude one more time, Lee informed me that this was the first time he’d changed an alternator on a car. And in our car, the alternator was not easy to get to.
Thanks Lee, you are a true friend.
Oh, and the car works great now.
